Extreme Hokkien Mee

Just got back from the craziest weekend in Penang. I was down for Tofu Delivery King's wedding (to Ketchup Queen) and it must have been the craziest weekend ever! We must have committed numerous sins namely gluttony.

One of the more famous hawker dishes in Penang has got to be Hokkien Mee or to those who arent from Penang, prawn mee. Wasabi King has posted about his favourite stall but unfortunately, the many drunken nights we spent in Penang means we cant wake up in time for that. We however visited another famous stall (which opens till the wee hours of the morning) for our fix. This particular stall is in Green House hawker center in Burma road.

Why I called it extreme?? Just look at it!! Fully laden with extras. When my friend WK and Ah Put told me about this RM12 hokkien mee, I just had to try for myself.

When it arrived, it came laden with small shrimp, one and a half boiled egg, fish balls, some cooked porks skin, siew yoke, pork ribs and vegetables. I really had a hard time finishing this magnificent bowl of hokkien mee. As my friends say it the best...."even eating prawn mee at Little Penang wouldnt cost so much!!"

Overall a superb bowl of hokkien mee but be forewarned, try only if you have a big empty stomach!! Not after having a buffet dinner!!

Makan Kings rating = 7.5 out of 10

Cheers,

cookies_cream - It was good!! I find anywhere you go in Penang, the hawker food is always above average

soon keong - Its along Jalan Burma. Same road as the famous Him Heang. It'll be on the left along that road. Its the hawker center with the green sign

beachlover - Yea! Its the first time for me as well. Have never seem so much stuff in Hokkien mee before this.

iguanakia - It wasnt very spicy la.

"joe" - Definately more ingredients than noodles!! I was telling my friends this and they said should order RM12 with only noodles!! *pengsan*

ck-ii - First time for me too, normal Hokkien mee is just with kangkung, pork slices and some prawns.

daphne - Definately sinful, definately good!!
