Singapore - ToriQ
Firstly all of us @ the Makan Kings would like to wish everyone a very Merry Christmas (albeit belated) and a Happy New Year filled with more health, wealth and happiness than the last. We were down in Singapore a month or so ago.
When in Singapore, I never fail to visit my favourite food stall, ToriQ!!! I love ToriQ! I could eat ToriQ for breakfast, lunch and dinner!! :D

ToriQ is basically japanese "satay" or toriyaki. Basically skewered meats barbecued with teriyaki sauce. At ToriQ, if you order 3 or more sticks you can add rice and pickles for S$0.50 which is what I ALWAYS do.
Open the box and the smell just hits you. In this particular box I have Tontoro Pork, Pork with Asparagus and two sticks of Chicken Balls. Remember to ask them to pour extra sauce over everything when packing.
I just cant describe the taste. It is smoky, sweet with nice burnt flavour you get from barbecuing. It is one of my most favourite things to eat in Singapore. I must have at least one box per day everytime I visit. I even bought 5 boxes when I left!!

A box of ToriQ + some good mineral water = A GOOD MEAL ANYTIME!!

I did not know this is so good, even though I'm a Singaporean. Have not tried it.
Hmmm we must have taken it for granted tigerfish.
It's quite nice lah. But I won't be eating them everyday.

i'd never been too fond of yakitori, not even in japan. but i tried it once in sg and .... sigh. yaki tontoro pork is like the bestest! zomg!

Yes!! ToriQ is my fav food in Singapore. Agree that the tontoro pork is BEST!!
