Seems like there are many Japanese buffet around town. Decided to check out the "youngest" in the Japanese buffet scene. Matsuba Japanese Restaurant. It is located in Desa Sri Hartamas.
The buffet offers a wide selection of food. There is your usual selection of sushi and sashimi. A sukiyaki pot, teppanyaki, fresh oysters, tempura, etc. For drinks, the restaurant has self service counter for green tea (iced/hot), ice lemon tea, fresh orange juice, soya bean, etc. For dessert, they serve ice-cream, all sorts of cakes and konyaku jelly.
Quite a wide selection wouldnt you agree?
The picture above shows some of the appertisers, the endamame beans, and some salad.
The picture above shows gyoza (a japanese pan dumpling) and unagi. The gyoza here is nice and fresh. There are chefs behind the buffet counter constantly whipping up new batches of gyoza, tempura, etc. The unagi was also good. Like the fact that they serve it in bigger pieces whereas some Japanese buffet cuts them up into tiny pieces.
Above is a selection of sashimi from the buffet. The fish used were fresh (althought probably not the best cuts of fish). They include, butter fish, tuna and salmon.
These are all the pictures that were taken. Too busy eating to take more pictures. Do give Matsuba Japanese Restaurant a try for its buffet.
