Biggest Roti Tissue

Went for "yum cha" session with some friends the other night at Kayu Nasi Kandar at Tesco, Damansara Perdana. Notthing really special until one of my friends ordered the roti tissue.

When the waiter brought the roti tissue over I couldnt believe my eyes!! That must be the tallest roti tissue I have ever seen!!

The picture above shows the man making the roti tissue. It is by no means an easy task. I guess he had much practice so its not really a problem for him.

Here is my friend staring in amazement at the HUGE roti tissue. The expression on his face together with the comparison of the roti tissue and his body says it all.

Anyway, when it came time to eating the monster, it had to be placed lying down on two plates. Taste wise its ok. They added condensed milk and honey to the roti tissue. Must say the honey goes really well with the thin and crispy roti tissue.

Makan Kings ratings - 7 out of 10 (Quite expensive - RM4 for roti tissue)

New Outlet Coming Soon to Midvalley!!!

Was walking around Midvalley Megamall when I stumbled across this shop that is under renovation. Beard Papa's is coming to town!!! They sell one of the best cream puff I've ever tasted. The cream stuffing was rich, creamy and had just the right amount of sweetness.

Had it a few times in Singapore. I remembered that they were selling for SGD2 each. Quite expensive, wonder what the price here will be like. Anyway, this is one food outlet that the Makan Kings will definately be writing about. So wait for our review when it finally opens!

Gertak Sanngul , Penang - Seafood Paradise

Gertak Sanggul Fishing Store @ Gertak Sanggul, Penang.

Went to had seafood dinner at Getrak Sanggul today.. It's about 40 minutes drive from Georgetown. This restaurant actually is a fishing store with a small dining area beside it which caters for those customers came for fishing. You can get fresh seafood around Gertak Sanggul area as it's just next to the sea.

7 of us went to this restaurant with only one target : "SEAFOOD"

Started with "Deep Fried Sotong" .. The sotong is fresh..YES..very very fresh and yet crispy.

Next... Signature Dish " Fish Hor Fun " ... it's not stir fried mixed vegetable ! It's "Sar Hor Fun" in hokkien.. Fried Hor Fun in English... The "Hor Fun" is deep fried and cooked with deep fried fish, onions, chinese cabbages, tofus, carrots, mushrooms, corns and offcourse the gravy. The "Hor Fun" tasted so crispy... STRONGLY RECOMMENDED !

"Fried Kappa (Known as LaLa in KL) with Sweet and Sour Sauce" It looks very nice in pictures and the actual taste is even better than what you see here.. The Kappa is Big, Fresh and it tasted so good especially with sweet and sour sauce. Yummy..yummy,,,,

" Steam Red Snapper " Fresh Red Snapper steamed with soy sauce.. Suitable for those juniors.. One of my cousin took at least 1/4 of the fish with the sweet and tasty soy sauce for his rice..

After so many seafoods and meats... Finally the Vege is here " Sambal KangKung"

"Claypot Spicy Chicken" - Chicken cooked in claypot with black sauce.. Another dishes must go with rice.. It tasted like Kong Po style.. GOOD !

" Kuai Mei Balitong " -Balitong fried with Kua Mei (Weird) Sauce.. Actually the sauce is spicy and sour... Sucked it hard hard when you eat :)

Finally... Our FAV " Meat Crabs " fried with spicy sauce and onions... The crabs is fresh and meaty.. and the meat was sweet yet juicy ! The sauce and onions tasted so nice.

ARgghhhh... KENYANG ! Seriously a good place for seafood lovers.. and it's cheap and nice (small village). The enviroment must be improved (more advanced toilets and air-cond dining area).

Restoran SeaView @ Seremban

Went to Seremban today. Went to look around the town. Must say that there really isnt much to do in Seremban. Anyway, dinner time came and we decided to go for some seafood. Wanted to go down to Port Dickson or Lukut but after some calls decided not to incase we got lost. Ended up in Restoran SeaView in Kemayan.
The restaurant was quite nice. We realise after the meal it is Halal and caters to tourist as well. Saw a large bus unloading tourist and a few malay families dining there.

Didnt want to have rice today. So ordered "Sing Chao Mai" which is Singapore style fried rice vermicelli. I must say that this dish doesnt really taste like "Sing Chao Mai". It wasnt bad but it just tasted like any normal fried bee hoon. Notthing really special

Next dish to arrive was the fried baby kailan. This dish was good! I think that one of the ways to judge a chinese restaurant is by the vegetables. In this one, the vegetable was still fresh and crunchy. The bits of garlic was a good accompanyment to it.

This is venison in black pepper sauce. This dish was excellent!! The black pepper sauce was really good. It was fragrant yet not over powering. The meat itself didnt have any gamey taste. I liked the big chunks of onions and capsicum in it.

The last dish is the barbequed crabs. The crabs here are quite big and meaty. I think this is the best way to cook crabs, by simply barbequing it without the need for any heavy sauces. Anyway, the crab was really fresh and the meat was sweet and juicy. Overall a very satisfying meal.
